Did you know that Black Currant is also referred to as Cassis -- pretty fancy, right? Yup, Creme de Cassis is that tasty combo with champagne we used to serve at the tea room. Back in 1712, folks thought the drink had aphrodisiac properties (yikes!) and warned to consume with caution -- phew, no worries, nothin' like that in this tea! It's just that delicious black currant flavor without the caff!
C02 decaf process: This particular Black Currant is a decaf blend. All of the decaf teas we carry are processed using the C02 process. The advantage of this decaf process is that no chemical solvents are used to remove the caffeine. Instead, a method using high pressure and temperature extract the caffeine. Since this tea is a high-grown Ceylon tea, it retains its original character under the C02 decaffeinating process. You're going to love it!
