Happy Thanksgiving!!

November, 2019 ~ Happy Thanksgiving!! This holiday seems to have morphed into a general day of thanks and a time to be with friends and family. I love this day!  Yes, I am thankful for our forefathers coming to America. I love my country and understand the struggles of those times. It was the beginning of a new life for all. And now I love the life I have and am thankful for each and every day.

When I used to teach children’s etiquette classes, part of the class was about being kind to others.  I would ask them to make it a habit to say “thank you”. If you start counting all the opportunities you have to say thank you — big or small — you will soon lose count. It will become a habit. Your spirit will lift, and it will not only make you happy but somebody else as well.  I would ask them to try to count all the times they could say thank you each morning: the beautiful sunrise, parents helping them get dressed, mom cooking breakfast, best friends walking to school together, car pools, doors being opened, teachers, friends, bus drivers, fresh air, recess, a helping hand.  From a child’s perspective, there’s so much to be thankful for. From an adult’s perspective, the opportunities are endless!  

There’s always a minute and a reason to be thankful. And today I thank our good Lord for all the blessings he has showered upon my family.
